When clients enter
your facility what do they hear?
a. Music
b. "Hello! How may I help you?"
c. Arf arf! Meow meow!
d. All of the above
If you answered "d"
you are not alone. I suspect many veterinarians think
working in a noisy building is a necessary evil of their
profession.
The good news is:
It's not necessary. The mechanical system and building
construction can make a difference.
The not-so-good news
is: Some general contractors don't understand this.
our company founder E John Knapp learned to design buildings
that work well to control both sound and odor emission.
He has spoken at many zoning hearings where neighbors
(and even competitors) tried to squelch a proposed new
animal hospital or kennel by saying the noise would
disturb the neighborhood.
Inside we explore
ways to control sound in animal care facilities. Mechanical
systems are an ongoing subject in KSA newsletters in
2001. |
