Animal Shelter Design Varies According to Need

The Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission
facility is a combined effort of 19 municipalities. The 17,000-s.f.
facility includes 180 dog kennels, four cat condo wards, bathing,

The Crawford County Humane Society in Bucyrus,
Ohio is a 6,000-s.f. concrete block and steel frame structure with
a capacity of 135 animals. The reception lobby provides public viewing
of the adoption wards.

The Nantucket MSPCA (Massachusetts Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) had to meet strict community
design standards. The facility provides veterinary, boarding, shelter,
and wildlife rehabilitation services.
